Yeah, but where's your dignity?

Here's a story about a fellow who received numerous free credits for a music download service named Sony Connect. This guy thought, "what a little slice of heaven. I'll be able to legally obtain delightful songs like 'Contagious' by Y&T, 'Hold Me Now' by the Thompson Twins, and UTFO's 'Pick Up the Pace'". Their free proprietary software SonicStage would be his "Key to the Golden City". But it turns out the city was actually Camden, NJ. This experience, I imagine, is not unlike being given a pet as a gift. A cuddly pet that'll never learn to behave and will keep shitting inside your house. Sure it looks adorable and is full of such wonderful potential that you shower it with love but it keeps crapping all over your house!!! Actually this analogy stinks but suffice to say, SonicStage is shitting all over my computer.

Its problems are too numerous to mention and Sony tech support is no goot. Once, their recommendation broke my computer further forcing me into heavy investigation which eventually led to my fixing the problem. I guess that counts as 'help'. By and large though Sony tech support's way of dealing with complaints is to shovel more free download credits at me. Everyone's got a price. Mine's the Andrews Sisters' 'Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy'.

Oh and you know what else sucks? Funky Winkerbean. That comic strip blows more than a broke, toothless crackwhore.

On a more pleasant note, Happy and Blue2 is back! Check out his new site (not the old, cybersquatted one).
Also, if you like reading about food in Japan, please take a look at Kenny's blog.

And another trusting soul bites the dust.
Maybe it's just your song choices that are breaking your computer..

It was so sad while he was gone....

I've been getting music from Limewire, but I think I also got a computer bug with it.

I'm afraid of Sony. Everytime I've gotten involved it ends in heartache and hassle...not to mention excessive expense.

but isn't it good that you've found this out, so that your loyal readers can be spared the same kind of pain and disappointment?

That's why I don't download anything. I get my boyfriend to do it. :-P Ah, I love being selfish...

I'll never forget... my dad and I watching a video of the Andrews Sisters in a hotel, after pop's surgery. I commented on the size of their turdcutters.

"They're from Minnesota" replied my dad.

On a low-tech/high tech note, you can usually find the CDs of all the moldy oldies you want at your public library. It saves you the chafe of inevitably having to deal with a c*cksucking phone jockey at SONY.

Japanese food makes me nostalgic.

Stuff that gets installed onto your computer leaving you up all night reading through geek forums and restarting your computer 9500 times makes me mad.

Funky witherbean isn't nearly as bad as "Brenda Starr". I'm a freak, I've always been a fan of andy capp.

HB2- If "Culture Club" didn't break my PC this stuff won't. I hope.

L- true. Now someone get Vile File started again.

PBS- Oh this isn't a virus, the software just sucks. I've never heard o' Limewire.

Rainypete- They only seem good with the Playstation products. I wish they'd improve that crappy 4-way directional pad though!

Violet- You're right. If anyone's considering this, don't do it!

Bo- Switching teams to get some hassle-free music is a tad too high price for me. :)

Prego- They looked ok though the last I saw them was maybe in some Abbott & Costello movie; things may have changed? Good suggestion about the library, I shall look into that.
Oh yeah, you also reminded me of a fake old Family Circus I drew that I'll have to post.

p.nova- Yeah, those geek forums always devolve into a guy getting PO'd at some AOL chump over nitpicky little computer specs.

katie- Brenda Starr's been long gone here (I think?) as should Fonky Winklebean. I've an old Andy Capp book back from when he used to get drunk and beat Flo rather than vice versa. The good ol' days!
